This policy explains how The Trade Tribe Investments Ltd ("The Trade Tribe", "we", "us") collects and uses your personal data when you visit this website or get in touch with us, and the rights you have under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

The Trade Tribe Investments Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 14038646, with a registered office at Unit 1, Cam Centre, Wilbury Way, Hitchin, Hertfordshire SG4 0TW.

For any question about this policy or your data, contact us at ben@thetradetribe.com. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), registration number [to confirm].

The data we collect

Information you give us. If you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address and the content of your message. If you email us, we hold whatever you choose to share.

Information collected automatically. When you browse the site we may collect technical and usage data: your IP address, device and browser type, approximate location (country and city, worked out from your IP address), the pages you view, how long you stay, and how you arrived at the site (for example, which advert or link you clicked). We use this to keep the site secure, to understand how it is used, and to measure how well our free masterclass pages and adverts work.

Our free masterclass registration, VIP offer, confirmation and checkout pages. On these pages our measurement tools start working as soon as the page loads, without a cookie banner: Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, Cortana (our advertising measurement provider), PostHog (our website analytics provider, hosted in the EU) and an OpenAI advertising measurement tag. We use them because we need to know which adverts lead to registrations and sales. You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings, and you can ask us to delete the data we hold about you by emailing ben@thetradetribe.com.

The VIP experience page. Because this page holds your private access link and the goals and numbers you enter, it uses only PostHog (our own website analytics tool, hosted in the EU), and none of the advertising tools above (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Cortana or the OpenAI tag). It records only that the page, a tool or a step was used, not what you entered, and it also starts working as soon as the page loads, without a cookie banner.

Testing different versions of a page. We sometimes show visitors a different version of a masterclass page so we can learn which version works better. To do that we remember which version you saw, so you see the same one when you return. We do not record your screen, your mouse movements or anything you type, other than the details you submit in the registration form.

What we send to our tools. After you register, we link the pages you viewed to your registration using a random reference number. We do not send your name, email address or phone number to PostHog or Google Analytics. We do send them to Cortana, our advertising measurement provider, which uses them to link your registration to the advert you clicked, and which reports registrations and purchases to Meta (Facebook and Instagram) in a protected, hashed form so that Meta can measure our adverts.

Booking the free masterclass. The masterclass is registered and hosted on a separate webinar platform. When you click "Join the Next Masterclass" you leave this website and any details you enter there are handled under that platform's own privacy notice. We receive registration details so we can run the session and follow up about it.

Where we do take payments (for example on a checkout page), these are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.

The VIP Investor Experience (£17). If you buy the one-time VIP upgrade, the payment is taken by Stripe. You enter your card details into Stripe's secure payment form and Stripe handles them. We never see or store them. We give Stripe your email address so that it can send you a receipt. What we keep is a payment reference, the fact that you paid, and a record of when you agreed to start your access straight away. Our VIP terms explain what you are buying.

Your registration record. When you register, we keep a private record of your name, email address, phone number, the webinar session you chose, the registration page you used, which version of it you saw, and a random reference number. We hold it to run the offer and your VIP access. It is not public, and we delete it 90 days after the webinar. We also keep a scrambled (keyed hash) version of the one-off code your browser sends when you register, never the code itself. It is used only to finish a registration that was slow to confirm, can be used for 30 minutes, and is deleted with your registration 90 days after the webinar.

Your VIP priority question. If you choose to save a priority question for Ben (up to 500 characters), we store it against your registration and the webinar session you chose. Ben and Bianca read it before the session so that every VIP question can be answered live. You can change it until 2 hours before the webinar starts: we use the newest version and keep the earlier ones until the same deletion date. We delete it 90 days after the webinar, and it is never sent to our analytics tools. Copies of questions that our team exports to run the live Q&A (for example with Copy all or a CSV file) are working copies: our team must also delete them within 90 days of the webinar.

What stays in your browser. On the VIP experience page, your goals, your answers and the numbers you put into the Time Freedom Blueprint and the Wealth Horizon Simulator stay in your own browser (they are kept only for the tab session, so they are gone when you close the tab) and are not sent to us or to our analytics tools. The only thing we receive from the tools is the priority question you choose to save.

Your VIP access link. After you buy, we send you your VIP email, which carries a personal link to your VIP access, so you can go back to it. It is personal to you, so keep it private. It only works on a limited number of browsers and devices, as explained next.

Keeping your personal link from being shared widely. So that a personal link cannot be shared widely, the VIP experience page keeps a random identifier in your browser's storage. When you use the page it sends that identifier to us, and we record it against your registration, together with the time we first saw it. We do not record your name or any other detail with it. We allow up to five different browsers or devices to start using your link in any one week; if more try, the link is paused for them and we ask you to reply to your VIP email. These identifiers are deleted with your registration 90 days after the webinar.

How we use your data, and our lawful bases

To respond to your enquiry when you contact us. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in answering you, or taking steps at your request before entering a contract.
To run the free masterclass and the programme you sign up for. Lawful basis: performance of a contract, and legitimate interests.
To take your payment for the VIP Investor Experience, give you your VIP access, use your priority question to prepare the live Q&A and keep your personal link from being shared widely. Lawful basis: performance of a contract, our legitimate interest in protecting the product from misuse, and legal obligation for the tax and accounting records we have to keep.
To understand and improve the website and measure our adverts, using analytics. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in running and improving our business and advertising, and your consent where the law requires it (for example, through the cookie banner on our main website pages).
To meet our legal and regulatory obligations. Lawful basis: legal obligation.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to make automated decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.

Cookies

We use essential cookies that make the site work and analytics cookies that help us measure how the site is used (on most pages only if you accept them through the banner; on the masterclass registration, VIP offer, confirmation, VIP experience and checkout pages they run without a banner, as described above). You can accept or decline non-essential cookies using the banner shown on your first visit, and you can change your browser settings to refuse or delete cookies at any time. Declining analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use the site.

Cookies and similar technologies on the masterclass registration, VIP offer, confirmation, VIP experience and checkout pages

ttt_lp (The Trade Tribe): remembers which version of a masterclass page you saw. Lasts 30 days.
A PostHog cookie and browser storage (PostHog): a random visitor ID so we can count visits and see which pages work. Lasts up to 1 year.
_ga and _ga_… (Google Analytics): counts visits and measures how the site is used. Lasts up to 2 years.
A Cortana tracking cookie (Cortana): links an advert click to a later registration. Its lifetime is set by Cortana.
Stripe's own cookies and similar technologies (Stripe): set by Stripe's payment script, which loads on the VIP offer page and our checkout pages, and also on the confirmation page when you return to it from a bank or 3D Secure redirect, to make payment work and for fraud prevention. Stripe sets a visitor ID that lasts up to about a year and a session ID that lasts about 30 minutes.
ttt-reg-ref (The Trade Tribe): when you register, a one-off random code kept in your browser for that tab only, so that if our system is slow to confirm your registration the next page can still find it. If our confirmation does not arrive in time it is also passed to the next page briefly in the page address, in the part after the # sign, which browsers do not send to us or to other websites; that page removes it from the address bar straight away. It may still appear in your browser's own history, and an app's built-in browser may be able to see it before it is removed. It cannot be used after 30 minutes, contains no personal details, is removed from your browser as soon as it has been used, and is gone when you close the tab.
ttt-reg-token (The Trade Tribe): a random code that links this browser tab to your registration so we can show you the right offer and confirmation. It contains no personal details and is gone when you close the tab.
ttt-vip-device (The Trade Tribe): on the VIP experience page, a random identifier kept in your browser's storage so that we can limit how many browsers use your personal link. Stays until you clear your browser storage.
Tab-session storage (The Trade Tribe): on the VIP experience page, your access link and the goals, answers and numbers you enter are held in your browser for the tab session only, and are gone when you close the tab.
ttt-cookies (The Trade Tribe): remembers your choice on the cookie banner shown on our main website pages. Stays until you clear your browser storage.

Who we share your data with

We share personal data only with service providers who help us run our business, and only as far as they need it to provide their service to us. These include our website hosting and form provider, our analytics provider, and our email and webinar platforms. All are required to keep your data secure and to use it only on our instructions. In practice these are Netlify (website hosting and the private store that holds your registration record), ActiveCampaign (our customer and email platform), Cortana (advertising measurement), PostHog and Google (website analytics), Meta (advert measurement, as described above) and Stripe (payments).

We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or in connection with the sale or reorganisation of our business. Reviews you choose to leave on Trustpilot are governed by Trustpilot's own privacy notice.

International transfers

Some of our providers are based outside the UK. Where your data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations, so that your data remains protected.

How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out above, and generally no longer than two years after our last meaningful contact with you, unless a longer period is required by law or to resolve a dispute. We then delete it or anonymise it securely.

Some data follows its own period. Your private registration record, your VIP priority question and the browser identifiers recorded against your registration are deleted 90 days after the webinar you registered for. That does not remove every copy: your contact details and the fact that you bought are also held in our customer and email platform (ActiveCampaign) under the general retention period above, and your personal access link is stored there so that we can email it to you. Stripe keeps your payment record, including the email address used for your receipt, as required for tax and fraud purposes, and we keep payment and VAT records in our accounts for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Cortana (our advertising measurement provider) receives your purchase together with your name, email address and phone number.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it. To exercise any of these, email ben@thetradetribe.com and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113. We would ask that you give us the chance to put things right first.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top of this page, and significant changes will be made clear on the website.
